Govt should put GFDC back on football field

On May 25 the United national declared the day World Football Day. In India too football is played in every state but football is yet to reach its peak in this country. Various tournaments are organised and to bring more Josh we have the ISL being introduced. Our state also has declared football as the state game and our late Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar established Goa Football Development Council. The council has dedicated coaches in every nook and corner of Goa training these young players. Many players who have graduated into National players should be proud that their careers in  football started at GFDC centres. To name the latest sensational was Nathan from Arambol. The standard of school team tournaments have become very competitive because players have their initial training at GFDC centres, a remarkable growth in football but somewhere the present government has been losing the vision of Parrikar. GFDC has no Chairman or the council members in place for the past six months. I hope the Goa cabinet Ministers led by the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and the Sports Minister Govind Gaude will immediately appoint the Chairman and council members at the right time as the new academy is a few weeks away to begin.

Is this an example of good governance by the Goa government and Margao Municipality? Corruption seems to be running very high in Goa and is actively encouraged by the current ruling government.
