India's happiness ranking of 126 speaks for itself

According to the  2024 World Happiness Report, Finland is the happiest country in the world, followed closely by Denmark and Iceland. This is a record breaking seventh time in succession that Finland has achieved that rank. Singapore on the other hand with a score of 30 out of 143 has been adjudged the happiest country in Asia, whereas  India is far behind with a ranking of 126 out of 143. It is important to mention  that in arriving at these rankings, six factors such as GDP per capita, life expectancy, social support, freedom, generosity and perception of corruption. Also, that these rankings were based on the answers received from the people in rating their own lives. At a time of going to the country's national 2024 polls, the low ranking of 126 does nor bode well for the incumbent govt, especially in the wake of the propaganda and  praises heaped on its achievements  during the past 5 years, during campaigning.  Probably it will need to fulfill all the guarantees in its manifesto to come close to a ranking of 20, never mind the top 10. Till then it's anyone's guess.
