Across south Goa district it can be observed that there is poor disposal of garbage. People throw waste out of their moving vehicles unaware of the consequences.
Upon questioning the reason provided is that there is no proper place to discard the waste. Hardly any waste bins are provided for community use may it be at the beach, outside the park or any other public place so people just prefer littering around.
This practice is completely wrong and individuals need to be a little more concerned about the environment. While travelling one could have two separate paper bags handy in the vehicle in order the segregate and discard the waste. After arrival at the nearest community bin dispose your waste.
And a much simpler practice would be to take the waste back home and discard. Also, kindly take a little trouble and discard the waste in the stationed community waste bins if any rather than just flinging it out of the moving vehicle.
The authority should take into consideration the respective issue and install stationery bins with a range of some kilometres from the previous bin.
Install sign boards and take strict action against the individuals who litter in public. Let us practice clean habits together.
