It's a shame our roads don't last even for one year

In Goa drunken driving is a way of life even tourists are not afraid of law in Goa. The police started a drive against drunken driving after the Banastarim accident where three innocent lives were lost and within a short span of days there was a horrifying accident at Assagao where a car driven by an intoxicated driver rammed into another car and the driver could not even walk as per an eyewitness and the damaged car owner. Police who have to be at the police station for investigation of crimes and other law and order problems are instead seen on the roads issuing challans to helmetless two-wheeler riders and vehicles of non-Goan registration on highways. Are the traffic police not sufficient to man the roads of Goa? Will issuing challans to two wheelers bring an end to accidents? If the government is unable to provide roads lasting for not even one year then it's a shame.  I am not aware why contractors are unable to provide motorable roads or is due to high commission paid to government officials?
