Konkan Railway in Goa were not announcing on their public address system at the railway stations arrival and departure and the coach position in Konkani and preference was instead being given to Marathi as first language, then Hindi and lastly English. A few days ago, I went to the Karmali railway station and I was surprised to hear that Konkani language was used as first language for announcement of arrival and departure for which I whole heartedly thank the konkan railway authorities. But I still feel the Konkan Railway authorities have not done justice to the Konkani language as the work is I would say half done as till date the coach position is not announced in Konkani. This was pointed out to one of the station masters in Karmali, Margao and Tivim. I request the Konkan railway authorities to kindly rectify and insert Konkani language for announcement of bogie position in Konkani not only at Konkan Railway stations but also on the South Central Railways, Vasco stretch. Hope the railway authorities rectify this anomaly.
