Of late, it’s raining leaders in Goa. AAP has listed several VPs. Congress has ‘empowered’ workers to select their leaders. There are several others claiming to be leaders that have embraced the BJP and other parties.
These leaders must now speak out. They have to come clean on their objectives for Goa. Just speaking out against the government or in support of the government does not make one a leader.
The Mini-India project is a case in point. Which leader did anything about it? Which leader even thought it was against the interests of locals?
In the build-up to the 2020 Olympics we saw a mass media campaign to boost the morale of Indian participants. Did we hear the names of former Olympians used as motivation? No.
So why are these leaders, including those within the BJP, silent when local stadiums are being named after non-Goans?
The opposition MLAs have failed to save the interests of Goans.
Its time Goans choose their leaders who will protect the identity of Goa and Goans.
