Leaves, branches pose danger to overhead wires

On various occasions we come across dry branches of trees (of course, of small size) as also palm leaves over live electrical wires at different locations.

The situation turns rather dangerous thereby resulting in destruction of life and property at any instance. When wind blows there is every possibility of a short circuit taking place.

Of course, human lives are precious and need to be assured safety and protection at all costs. Hence it is absolutely necessary that such instances are attended at the appropriate time. Seen in the picture is a palm leaf lying over main electrical wires opposite ‘Purohit Bhavan’ at Khadpabandh in Ponda.

Officials at the electricity department in Ponda must take a note of the above and instruct the concerned maintenance staff to remove the leaf at the earliest.

Let us hope that necessary relief would be assured in this important matter on priority basis.
