Presently, some students of SSCE and HSSCE have hit the road in the last few days demanding the postponing or cancelling of Board examinations in view of the pandemic.
What brings to mind is these few students are not afraid of coming out and protesting despite Covid cases rising by the day. If they can come out and protest, what stops them from answering their Board exams?
We have seen protests in Margao and Mapusa. Looks like some of these students are not prepared for the exams. What about the other students who are ready to answer their exams? Is it not more tension for them to wait for another 2 months and study all over again? There is even greater tension for parents who are slogging it out to ensure their kids perform well.
Postponing the exams will only result in frustration and fatigue amongst the student community.
The best would be to follow the guidelines issued by the Board like social distancing, just 12 students in a class, wearing masks and other SOPs.
Its time students concentrate on their studies. Let the government decide what is best “ postponing the exams or cancelling them.
