Rome of East, Goa is burning and Altinho the seat of power of church of Goa is in deep slumber. The media gave us good news that the people of goodwill of different denominations, including NGOs came out to assist suffering humanity including supplying oxygen cylinders and opening Covid centres.
Bishop’s house, when the first outbreak of Covid-19 took place, came out with guidelines to lead the flock both at Diocesan and parish level, however, at its second wave Curia Patriarchal left it to the discretion of the local authorities. It is to be appreciated that a few parishes took the initiative not only to break the chain of Corona but also opening centres to assist Covid patients.
The archdiocese of Goa is blessed with plenty of recourses and finance yet till date it is a mere observer, it has not created alternatives to the insufficient existing system. Do not delay, be an incarnation of the early apostolic church of belief, prayer and service which was lighthouse to others who would “say see how they act”.
