Unity needed to steer Goa from Covid crisis

There is no need for resignation of the CM or the health minister. They are both doing a good job. If anyone needs to resign it is the Directorate of Health. If action had been taken as far back as four years ago the outbreak of Covid was avoidable. Further from January to April there were four months of  calm during which vaccination should have been stepped up. Instead, there was vacillation.

Constant pressure is put on the CM from all quarters. He has answered wisely. Where were people when the Mandovi Bridge collapsed? The opposition is seeking to capitalize on the situation. During a crisis or a calamity unity among factions is paramount. Doctors who have worked in epidemic areas in Africa need to steer the course of action. Candidates with a Master's in Public Health can also be considered. Recruits of erstwhile governments are proving both ineffective and unproductive.

Goa has its own healthcare institute, the GIM or Marian Institute of healthcare management. Graduates of it can be allocated voluntary positions to oversee administrative hurdles and report to the government corrective measures.
