Liberation Day: Let’s save Goa for posterity


Come Liberation Day and one will see the government and even Central ministers go into a celebratory mode with all their events, speeches and other drama!

I say drama because the following facts prove the blatant hypocrisy of it all.

Many "liberated" Goans irrespective of caste, creed, religion have already and more are still trying to secure Portuguese passports. So, what is this telling us?

The Indian Constitution was just imposed on Goa without considering our unique exception of being a small State and needing special consideration to preserve our land, environment, culture, and identity! 

Environment is gradually being destroyed with destruction of mangroves, hills, forests, trees, agricultural land, beaches and water bodies.

Rather than just celebrating Liberation Day for the sake of it, the actual meaning of Liberation should be for us to work together to have the Goa that we really aspire for and not in the state of affairs it is currently in!

Conviction rate of cases abysmal
