Significant concrete work is taking place in the fields of Guirim along National Highway 66, leading to destruction on both sides of the heritage fields. Landfilling for the sewage treatment project and construction of flyover blocks are underway. These once-green fields were neglected by farmers and the government, leading to illegal constructions.
Despite efforts by some farmers, the irrigation channels remained unused. Authorities are now rapidly repairing clogged culverts to address waterlogging, potentially transforming the area into a concrete jungle. Concerns about preserving agricultural land for increased production remain largely unaddressed.
