Love and respect the elderly

Our elders are a crucial part of our lives who guide us with their wisdom and experience.

Everyone will agree the sense of family unity, love for community, respect and care for our fellow men have been instilled in children by our elders.

All we need to do is try talking to them loud and clear or get them involved in little household chores. Let them know that you love and appreciate them and that you’re proud to be part of their descendants and get to know the value with these interactions.

We must not forget that one day all of us will reach the same stage as they are in. Therefore, the younger generation must learn the importance of respecting elders and make time to listen and spend quality with them.

This brings to mind a quote from Pope Francis where he rightly says ''No elderly person should be like an 'exile' in our families. The elders are treasures to the society and the elderly a reservoir of wisdom''.
