The Goa Tourism Department has spent Rs 14.5 cr last year to promote tourism at international destinations. This is much more than the expenditure incurred for the last 3 years put together.
International jamborees do not pay commensurate dividends. The Tourism Department must first get its act together by making Goa more welcoming to foreign tourist.
Travelling within the State must be made more pocket-friendly. Room rentals are very high. Why would foreign tourists come to Goa if they can get cheaper alternatives?
