Many a time the menace of stray cattle has been brought to the notice of the panchayats and the government but precious little is being done to eradicate it. Milch cattle which have stopped producing milk are left to wander on the village and city roads with their owners having washed their hands of them. One can frequently spot cows sitting in the middle of busy roads blocking the flow of vehicular traffic, sometimes we come across the sight of bulls fighting at busy road junctions endangering pedestrians. In less well lit areas at night , cattle are almost impossible to spot and two wheelers crash into them, even four wheelers encounter accidents in trying to avoid animals crossing the roads. Along with the stray dogs menace this has become a major issue in Goa, why doesn't the government's Animal Husbandry department constitute a nodal authority or sub committee to solve this problem which is getting worse day by day. Goa has literally gone to the dogs, now it's also going to the cows.
