Mitigating the risks of cows on Anjuna’s roads

I am writing to address a concerning issue in our Anjuna community: the frequent presence of cows on our roads, which endangers both motorists and animals. This causes traffic jams, accidents, and endangers lives.

Interaction between the government and farmers is critical for implementing measures to keep cows off the roads. Additionally, involving the local panchayat could bolster efforts to enforce regulations and provide resources for looking after the cows, such as providing them shelters.

By taking proactive steps to address this issue, we can ensure the safety of both residents and animals.

Undertaking only for vehicles rented by tourists?

Considering that in the last three years 135 accidents occurred involving rented vehicles (cars/bikes) the Goa Police has released a new rule. Though the date of implementation is not mentioned, but henceforth any one wishing to rent a vehicle need to sign an undertaking which would be separate for cars and bikes.
