Modi interview to Newsweek, why not Indian publications?

The extent of hypocrisy and duplicity that Modi and the BJP exhibits is stunning. Modi has not given a single press conference to Indian journalists but for a couple of one on one single interviews with media persons aligned to the saffron brigade. But he has now gone and given an interview to Newsweek, a US based international weekly. Modi and the BJP express displeasure and outright rejection of international ratings. So why Newsweek now, why not Indian media publications?
