Night clubs should pass fire safety norms

It's sheer pride and ego which led to the downfall and ultimate destruction of Romeo Lane night club. First of all how could the operations of the club carried out with no proper construction licence, fire safety norms, health safety and whole lot of environmental issues and approvals. The highly inflammable materials added to the fire that engulfed the structure in minutes. Built on a salt pan and narrow 4 metre access road , it was next to impossible for fire tenders and ambulances to access the property. The people trapped inside were roasted alive and some suffocated. How was a demolition order not executed, and it was debated at length in the assembly, but the lawmakers couldn't wrap their heads around this potential disaster generating project. All are equally culpable of this enormous murder wherein 25 individuals lost their lives and others are in a life threatening condition in GMC. A thorough audit is necessary to be conducted of all such hotels or night clubs, and it must be made mandatory for them to pass fire safety norms. The good name of the state is tarnished beyond repair at the onset of this tourism season.
