The abuse of papers and fake websites in government recruitment is now going to be under a lot of pressure. The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha recently passed the Public Examinations (Prevention Of Unfair Means) Bill, 2024 to prevent malpractice in recruitment exams.
It provides for punishment of up to three years and a fine of up to one crore for the guilty.
Exams conducted by UPSC, SSC, Railway Recruitment Corporation etc. will come under the ambit of law. There is also a provision to recover the cost of taking the exam from the concerned service provider.
Such service providers will be barred from conducting public examinations for the next four years. Due to malpractices in recruitment examinations and untimely cancellation of examinations, lakhs of youth are affected. This will now increase transparency by assuring youth that their future is secure.
Recently, tests were conducted at various places in the country and many times the papers were leaked well in advance. This affected lakhs of students who seriously prepared for this exam.
