It's a matter of great concern that Goans are surrendering their Indian passports as they perceive greener pastures on the other side of the globe with better job opportunities.
No doubt Goa is considered as the best bet, where people come, have fun, take rest and enjoy their vacation, by spending their hard earned money.
But, as far as employment is concerned, Goa has taken a back seat. Also, the salaries are low and the prices of essential commodities are skyrocketing.
In the hospitality (hotel) industry, workers tend to earn only for 6-7 months, then the off season approaches, with a supplementary 'off season break'. Sadly, no income gets generated during the said off season.
Apparently, the locals are always at the receiving end. Unemployment and less pay seems to be the prime jolt wherein the locals prefer to migrate to other European countries to get settled in life.
