A restaurant owner in Vasvaddo Benaulim has erected a dwarf laterite wall to block access to a prestigious housing society in Benaulim.
A minor argument between the local and residents of the housing society led to the former using strong-arm tactics. The daring man has put up a wall on a government built road leading up to the main entrance of the complex. This is also hazardous to vehicles and pedestrians using the road and minor accidents have already taken place.
Further the offender is drumming up support among the villagers to harass members of the society and justify his encroachment. He also allegedly runs an unsanctioned, illegal shop selling fruits and bottled water to passersby.
I request the Cana Benaulim village panchayat and law enforcement authorities to take strictest possible action in the matter.
