Apropos to your edit in The Goan dated June 8, I wish to congratulate you for your very pointed addressing and questioning the need to dig into the past by our Chief Minister something as irrelevant as the connect between Goa and Shivaji -- as compared to the many other perils the state is currently facing. I am not sure what makes our CM think that not enough is said about Shivaji in our schools and colleges. I studied at a school run by the minority community and yet learnt about the heroics of Shivaji against the Mughals, and had at once developed a liking towards his intelligence, strategies, his guts and glory. Will an overload of information, make Shivaji an even greater hero than he already is? With all the issues that our CM is raking up these days, it looks like a clear case of “Khorpotha eke koden, ani Khorpitha boltech kodden”. Certainly a bad strategist as compared to the erstwhile Chatrapati. It is high time that the CM reads the last paragraph of the editorial and focuses on the more pressing needs of the state “welfare of Goa and Goans.I wish also to express my disdain towards, the other establishments of the Fourth State in our Goa, for not garnering enough spine and behave like true guards of our democracy and our constitution.
