The remarks in a function on the religious beliefs of a particular community were uncalled for and very unfortunate, and on realising the blunder committed, the organisers instantly apologised in public. The opposition and vested interests were waiting in the wings to take advantage of such situations to instigate the public, who, without second thoughts, simply fell into the trap and blew the issue out of proportion on the same set pattern as done in earlier such instances.
A non-entity, who otherwise, on ignoring this episode, would have been in oblivion, now becomes a hero overnight, with the outcry of various demands adding fuel by the so-called opposition, who want to cash in on sympathy from that community. In order to pacify public sentiments, that individual is somehow arrested and put in jail, but will be out on bail in no time with greater glamour and with the added qualification of imprisonment to further his political career.
Finally, what will be the achievement of all this hue and cry and the demands, instant protests, FIRs lodged, etc., other than such idiots getting publicity, glamour, and becoming public figures? It is hoped restraint is exercised over actions which benefit such individuals by adopting the policy of forgive and forget, as they do not know what to speak.
