The Crime Branch police have arrested Madhav Khattar, the brother of Gautam Khattar. However, questions remain about Gautam’s whereabouts and who may be protecting him. It appears that the organisation may have known about the speech in advance and possibly supported it, despite its potential to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in the state and hurt the sentiments of the Catholic community.

Now, organisers, along with the minister and MLA, seem to be distancing themselves from the matter. Concerns remain why action was not taken if the speech was found misleading or offensive. Minister Mauvin Godinho is expected to respond to such issues, given his connection to the community. Similarly, Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar has faced criticism for not intervening.

There are also wider concerns about attempts by certain groups to damage the image of the Catholic community. Many feel such incidents should be handled firmly and fairly. People are demanding that Gautam be located and appropriate legal action be taken. At the same time, there is a call for calm and for authorities to ensure law and order is maintained, while addressing public concerns in a just and transparent manner.
