Roads are dug up over and over again in Panaji for various project works and the work seems to have no end in sight, much to the anger of netizens. Bad roads and potholes in Goa are an all-season malady. Panaji has become pothole capital and land of forever dug up roads. Dug-up roads are a common issue for cities, hindering traffic movement and compromising road safety. Roads are being dug up all the time but nothing much is done afterward to close them up properly. It is noteworthy that several accidents caused by these deadly potholes and bad roads are not even reported, only a handful come to light. Poor road quality is always a major issue in Panaji. This is one aspect the city never gets right due to various reasons. Citizens have the right to properly maintained roads as a fundamental right guaranteed by Article 21 of the Constitution of India and in the event any loss is caused due to its violation, the citizens have a right to seek compensation.
