The state government has allowed the schools to restart regular physical classes for students of Classes VII and VIII from November 25. However the decision with regards to allowing offline classes for students of primary section up to Class VI has been kept in abeyance. Many parents could probably be circumspect about sending their children to school at this juncture. It must be said that if (God forbid) the virus is to strike again it will strike irrespective of which standard students are studying. On the flip side it must be said that staying at home for so many months could have a negative psychological effect on the students. If physical classes are set to commence then it would be desirable not to make attendance for the classes mandatory. It should be left to the parents to decide whether or not to send their children to school. Online classes need to be continued simultaneously along with physical classes so that parents have an option. The teaching conducted during the physical classes could be simultaneously made available on the internet so that students can attend either online classes or physical classes.
