In January 2022, 142 Goans succumbed to Covid. These people were either vaxed or living in an adult society that was almost entirely vaxed and is threatened by the mild Omicron variant. They had survived the original, more deadly variant in 2020 and 2021 when there was no vaccine available. So why are they being allowed to succumb now? Why cannot they survive? Somewhere somebody is goofing up. In 2020, people died from Covid for want of oxygen or beds. Yet, the BJP government is trying to poke holes in the decisions taken in 1947 and 1961. Imagine had they been in charge in 1947. The carnage! The CEC has failed in taking protection measures from Covid in this election. Knowing the deaths are concentrated amongst the comorbid elderly and unvaxed, they could have allowed for postal ballot for the elderly. No screening was done for those on election duty. I think this government lacks spine and loves post-mortem (pun intended)
