The Lok Sabha polls in Goa are reportedly slated for May 7. With the exception of the name of Union Minister Shripad Naik, which has been announced by the ruling dispensation for the North Goa seat, Goan voters are waiting with bated breath for the announcement of the other candidates. The two main political parties seem to be waiting for each other to take the first step in announcing the candidate for the South Goa seat. It is to be noted that questioning the inordinate delay by the Congress party for the South Goa Lok Sabha seat, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has reportedly warned the leadership of the INDIA bloc partner not to take the party for granted. Ideally the names of all the candidates should have been announced before the election schedule is announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI), but this has not been the case. However the delay in announcing the candidates may not have much impact on the outcome of the polls since the mature Goan electorate may have already made up their mind as to which party to vote for.
