People who commute daily say that state authorities are turning a blind eye to the danger that motorists and pedestrians face. The pathetic conditions of the roads in Goa has irked daily commuters. The bad road engineering and lack of monitoring by the PWD is responsible for poor roads. The roads are a mess and with the rains it is worse. Especially the roads at Bhatlem, St Inez, Taleigao has been in abyssmal condition. The roads don't have proper footpath. The condition of roads is affecting life of every Goan and those visiting the State thereby clearly bringing bad repute and name to the State. Good and properly maintained roads are a fundamental right of every citizen. This very insensitive government has allowed the roads to deteriorate to an extremely pathetic condition. Potholes are one of the reasons for traffic congestion and road accidents, especially among two-wheeler riders. It is the statutory and constitutional duty of the PWD to maintain roads and footpaths.
