The Lok Sabha election results date clashes with the school reopening date on 4 June. This day is crucial as it will determine India’s future and which political party will rule. We voters have been eagerly awaiting the results for months, but the Goa government and the education department are rushing to reopen schools on 4 June.
The summer heat remains intense, and election day will bring additional heat with celebrations, shouting, traffic jams, and rallies. While students are excited to return to school, for safety reasons and to avoid problems, the government should postpone reopening to 5 June. Many schools will be used for vote counting, and cities will be crowded with political party supporters and fans.
We don’t understand why the education department is hurrying to reopen schools on this important day. Students are still enduring high temperatures in Goa.
