When the ferry fee was hiked, massive protests for its rollback by many islanders and leaders who voice their protest included Shrikrishna Haldankar of Chodankaramcho Avaz, Supriya Tari, Sao Matias Sarpanch, Yuri Alemao, Opposition leader, Venzy Viegas, AAP Benaulim MLA and Carlos Alvares Ferreira, Congress Aldona MLA.
Their fierce protests made the government roll back the move and withdraw the notification. Likewise, in the same spirit if the islanders and leaders unite with one voice for the larger interest of the islanders and demand that government construct the Chorao-Salvador do Mundo bridge which is pending since 2011, and force it to be taken up on priority basis by the BJP government, it will likely be another feather in their cap.
