About a year back, Adpai village in Ponda was sealed due to increased cases of Covid-19. At that time, the Adpai-Durbhat village panchayat had put up notices on local shops and tea stalls saying ‘No Masks, No Entry’. Now that cases are on the rise again, the VP should again remain vigilant enforce this rule. People have become lax again. The youth do not care about wearing masks in this area and there is every possibility the virus may start spreading again at a rapid pace. The Directorate of Panchayats should issue necessary instructions to all VPs in the state to reinforce strict compliance of the SOPs pertaining to Covid-19.
