Rahul's conviction raises eyebrows across country

Is the conviction of MP Rahul political or personal vendetta? But across the country especially the Congress party is in a hurdle to find the pros cons and also find a solution to appeal before the Supreme Court which the Congress party is certain to do, according to their leaders. In a press conference the Congress party in Goa including the President and the three elected MLAS said in one tone that it was a 'black day for democracy' and democracy in the country is under threat and looks going towards dictatorship of the Hitler rule.

The learned advocate and Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira explained what is a defamation and only personal attack made by stating his or her full name and not surname comes under defamation and a third person filing complaint doesn't come under the purview of defamation law. The Rahul case was pending since 2019 but unfortunately the Surat court convicted Rahul for 2-year jail term, a maximum punishment never given till date as per Ferreira. Rahul was also disqualified as a MP from Wayanad, Kerala which didn't go well with the Congress party and there were various comments coming from their leaders across the country.  Even a person with a simple imprisonment has a right to appeal in the higher courts, said Ferreira.

MP Rahul or any politician cannot be disqualified till the appeal is heard by the higher Court but even then Rahul was disqualified so the Congress party will definitely appeal so that justice us done by the Supreme Court. They have faith in the judiciary that truth will prevail and they will get justice as per the law of the land and the Constitution of India as law is equal for all citizen caste creed , colour and political affiliations ruling or opposition to all the citizens.

Carlos Ferreira MLA said that he will stand up and help anyone who needs his help against injustice done by any government. Hope better sense and truth prevails against the appeal of conviction against Rahul for the good and betterment of democracy and constructive criticism by opposition of the ruling Party is needed in our country for the future of democracy.

Whilst enough has been said on the conviction (right or wrong), I want to bring particular attention to the fact that so many BJP MPs with far worse criminal/terrorist cases than Rahul and MLAs (particularly in Goa including one involved in power scam, police station attack, etc); these cases have been going on for so many years, way before the…
