Another horrific crime against a woman at Dumka in Jharkhand. If proper protection was given, it could have been prevented. The way the stalker was paraded showed no remorse but looked like victory of his male chauvinistic ego after subjugating the victim. Though public outcry is shortlived the justice for the burnt victim wil remain a far cry. Perpetrators of such brutal acts must receive swift punishment and there should be no debate on whether it should serve as a deterrent or not or questioning of the efficacy of death sentence.

It may be recalled that the rapist of a minor girl was shot and hanged publicly within minutes of the crime in UAE. In our judicial system, the criminal gets the benefit to defend himself not the victim.
