Red Fort blast leaves Delhi on edge

I am horrified after seeing videos of a car blast near the historic Red Fort in Delhi ” smouldering vehicle frames, scattered wreckage and casualties. Eyewitnesses say the sound and impact were like nothing they had experienced before. Terrorism remains a global threat. Its aim is to spread fear by carrying out violent attacks. Security agencies say recent raids and arrests have foiled some plots, but investigations are continuing into who carried out this blast and whether they had outside help.

Officials have warned in the past about Pakistan-based groups and the use of sleeper cells and handlers to plan attacks. If there are any links to cross-border networks, they must be fully investigated and those responsible brought to justice. India’s security machinery should remain vigilant: tracking active cells, identifying hideouts and tightening border checks where needed. The Red Fort blast is a serious and shocking incident. Those who threaten the nation’s peace must be found and held accountable quickly.
