The chairman of Ravindra Bhavan, Baina, has reportedly instructed government offices within the complex to vacate the premises. The health department, mamlatdar’s office, and the Deputy Collector of Mormugao were relocated to Ravindra Bhavan, Baina, during the restoration of the Mormugao Municipal Council building in December 2021. Despite the completion of the restoration, the offices have not returned to the MMC building, causing significant inconvenience to the general public. The distant location of Baina from Vasco city particularly affects senior citizens and those without vehicles.
Moreover, the suspension of Konkani tiatrs at Ravindra Bhavan in Baina due to a non-functional AC chiller plant during the pandemic has added to the challenges. Tiatr enthusiasts from Vasco had to travel to Margao to attend shows at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. While there are plans to restore the AC chiller plant, it is crucial to utilize Ravindra Bhavan at Baina for its intended purpose promptly.
