Every vehicle on the road needs to have a horn. It is an essential accessory which is used to warn pedestrians and other vehicles. Hence the horn for heavy vehicles like buses and trucks is different from that used for tempos, cars, two-wheelers etc. This difference in the type of different class of horns is essential so that the vehicle’s driver in front or a pedestrian while crossing the road becomes aware of the type of the approaching vehicle. It is also observed that many two-wheelers are fitted with horns of four-wheelers. This creates confusion in the mind of the driver of the vehicle in front. The traffic police need to take strict action against those two-wheeler owners whose vehicles are fitted with horns which are used by four“wheelers. The police need to note down the registration number of such two-wheelers and ask the owner to change the horn. If there is a second violation, then the vehicle needs to be impounded. Vehicles which blow the horn at “No Horn” zone also need to be penalized. These "No Horn” zones are located near hospitals, schools, and other important locations.
