India's democratic system & robust electoral procedure cannot be compared to the US. Among the gifts given to us by the makers of our Constitution is an independent Election Commission of India, under whose supervision the elections to Parliament & State Assemblies are conducted by EVMs.
EVMs are efficient and help in counting speedily too. It also helps avoid episodes like stuffing of ballot boxes by booth capturing. EVMs are a here to stay.
The Indian electoral system so robust that even Hillary Clinton had described it as the "Gold Standard". To allay fears about EVM-VVPAT, one should read the "Status Paper on EVM" as available on the website of the Election Commission of India.
