The Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) has reportedly come under severe criticism for not supporting the ‘Save Mhadei, Save Goa Front’. As a matter of fact the RGP became the target of some of the speakers at the ‘Save Mhadei’ meeting held at Sanquelim apparently over the decision of the party to go alone on the Mhadei issue. However the lone RGP MLA representing St Andre constituency, stated that he is with the Opposition parties but added that there was lack of communication between them due to which he could not stage a walkout in the House. It must be said that the ‘Save Mhadei’ is an issue which concerns all Goans. All Opposition parties need to come together and the ruling party MLAs should also join the movement. It would be prudent for the Revolutionary Goans Party to join the people’s revolution which is said to be the second Opinion Poll and not go alone. Otherwise it will give a wrong impression that Goans are divided on the issue. Unity is the need of the hour.
