The current PM2.5 concentration in Goa is 2.9 times above the recommended limit given by the WHO 24 hours air quality guidelines value.
This is the result of so much destructive development, lack of foresight of current and past Goa Governments in planning and getting the right industries to Goa.
They are primarily responsible for getting us to this crisis stage! All those genuine activists who were fighting for the good of Goa were intimidated or tired down by those in power and unfortunately not supported by the Goan masses, who will also now face the ill effects of all this pollution.
Despite all these facts and figures, the Goa government continues to allow increased coal handling at MPT, more railway infrastructure for coal transportation, even more relaxations to more real estate projects, destruction of thousands of trees, forests etc...
Where are we heading... are Goans really thinking about this serious issue and what we can do to mitigate the same?
