It has been scientifically proven that rumblers on roads, highways in the State can cause severe spinal injuries and are a positive danger to pregnant women. During the rainy season rumblers become slippery. Rumblers cause damage to vehicles. Drivers do not respect reasons behind rumblers, but try to speed up and overtake enhancing risks. The height intended to slow down traffic only increases sound destroying the neighbourhood peace.
No measures are in place to book errant drivers. There is no scientific study to address the problem created by rumbler height, spacing, breadth and the number of strips. Highways are not designed as obstacle race course that hinders smooth flow of traffic. Like signals, blinkers, dividers, zebra lines are meant to caution drivers who have no discipline. Mere adoption of measures only adds to woes of affected residents. It is incumbent on those entering highways at crossings to stop and proceed. Broadening roads, signs boards of speed limit, crossings can also caution drivers.
