It is the start of a new academic year for school students but since last year the same problems prevail and these are absence of offline classes, poor or nil internet connectivity, bad roads and no public transport.
In Goa we read about rural children walking for a few kilometres through forests, climbing hillocks, standing along the roadside and even sitting on tree branches all in the hope of getting internet connection.
Hats off to the teachers for doing their best under the given circumstances and to the kids who are eager to learn under excruciating conditions.
Just imagine what the kids can achieve if they had better connectivity and could procure less expensive smart phones.
This is not the time to point fingers at any one. Yet, in the last one year additional or new mobile towers could have been erected and connectivity improved.
Since TVs may be more common, than smart phones, in rural houses could our able electronics and telecommunications engineers, information technology experts and computer nerds come up with a device or ways to boost internet connectivity through TVs?
Indians are famous for jugaad and surely someone may find a way to synchronise the output signals from TV to result in WiFi signals!
