Arpora is a classic case where the “special relationship” between specific panchas, the local MLA and even Ministers have gone sour, after the Arpora illegal night club fire which left 25 people dead. In my view this massive illegality could not have taken place without a corrupt collusion, with the specific wealthy “Delhiites” and finally when tragedy hits, the local MLA and minister are attempting to save themselves and abandoning their “ex-allies” ie panchas to find a scapegoat. Hope specific Salcette and Colva panchas working with corrupt ministers to devastate the village with various types of illegalities, can learn some lessons here.
