A handful of individuals (mostly outsiders) belonging to a right-wing organisation allegedly performed a “pooja” or a ritual at the frontispiece of the old church in Sancoale. The most shocking part about this particular incident was that the cops, who were present in large numbers at the site, instead of taking the individuals to task for daringly trying to disturb the communal harmony of the said village by indulging in such cheap acts were seen standing like mute spectators and watching the fun just like the three blind monkeys. These same cops who otherwise display great enthusiasm in arresting innocent Goans, NGOs, youngsters (including priests) for carrying peaceful protests everywhere against the destructive projects of the government have surprisingly not even bothered to register an FIR against the troublemakers.
