Sandeshkali, Manipur issues expose BJP's double standards

Narendra Modi speaking at a public rally in Jorhat, Upper Assam the other day said that the Congress had neglected the North East and that the BJP had brought in development in 5 years which the Congress would not have been able to do in 20. This is not in support or defence of the Congress on the issue of the neglect of the North East but similarly is Modi not neglecting Manipur which has been simmering with violence and a breakdown in law and order for the last 1 year? He has not thought it fit to visit Manipur even once despite the shameful atrocities on women there. And he then comments on the crimes against women in Sandeshkali in Bengal. This is again not in support of the TMC but to draw an equivalence and highlight Modi's double standards.  Further the NCW continues to pursue the need for President's rule in Bengal while ignoring a similar need in Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh where rape of women, gang-rape at that, and dastardly crimes against women are rampant and more or less a daily occurrence.  There cannot be one rule for the goose and another for the gander. Equity in observation and consequential justice is important.
