In Goa, the absence of regulations or policies for Sound/Commercial Zones raises concerns, with doubts about their existence or effective implementation in a highly corrupt environment. The ease with which individuals can establish restaurants/hotels, even in heavily residential areas, underscores the need for a clear policy. While acknowledging Goans’ penchant for hospitality, music, and events, it is essential to allow such establishments within reasonable limits and stringent guidelines.

However, there is a pressing need for policies governing the location and operation of hospitality/commercial establishments, especially those operating daily. Unregulated commercial setups contribute to issues like traffic/parking problems, pollution/garbage/sewage, anti-social elements, and noise disturbances affecting residents, particularly the elderly and children. Urging concerned authorities, including the government, municipal, and panchayat bodies, to address this menace promptly. Implement existing laws/regulations/policies or establish them promptly to mitigate the growing challenges.
