The Government announced subsidy, tax rebate and many other concessions to promote the manufacture and use of electric two wheelers. The various firms jumped in the fray and the market flooded with different brand names and made good sales. The public got attracted and on assurance of prompt reliable after sales service procured electric two wheelers as there was a showroom and fully equipped repairs shop. These firms after availing all the government benefits with hefty initial profit, one fine morning simply closed the shutters to vanish in thin air leaving the users high and dry with no control of authorities. The repair shops available for conventional scooters are not able to attend to these electric 2 wheelers. Some of the reputed firms of scooters have also simultaneously launched electric bikes but attend to their brand only. The Government had plans to install charging stations all over the State but now apart from it, repair shops are urgently needed to relieve the public from hardships in locating repairer. It is hoped the CM will intervene and resolve the matter and enforce strict control on such one timers.
