Defection from one political party to another by elected representatives has been the biggest bane of Goan politics. In the past defection has led to unstable governments since no party had an absolute majority.
Ironically after the last elections, defection by ten MLAs led to the state having a stable government for five years. Could defection be a blessing in disguise?
