Strict action needed against unruly tourists

A local taxi driver was assaulted and his vehicle was vandalised allegedly by a group of tourists following a collision with their two-wheeler in Calangute on Wednesday evening. The incident resulted in both the front and the rear windshields of the taxi being smashed. Of course, the police have now confirmed that some of the tourists involved in the incident have been detained and further investigation is underway.Well, it seems like nothing will come out from this so-called 'investigation' and as usual the tourists who have been detained will go to pay a 'hafta' or bribe to the cops and walk out scot-free. Today, the reason why we see these domestic tourists flexing their muscles so very often against locals is because they know that the Goa Police cops are totally incompetent/corrupt. I therefore feel that until the Goa Police cops start acting like professionals or start taking any strict action against such nuisance creating domestic tourists, we Goans will continue witnessing many more such ugly incidents in Goa.
