First and foremost, I welcome the High Court Order striking down the TCP dept’s section 17/2 with the case being put forward and argued by the Goa Foundation. Coming to my point, I would like to know what is the TCP ( Town and Country Planning) Dept actually planning ? There seems to be absolutely no proper planning including capacity carrying and it’s really suspicious on what grounds/basis, the TCP permissions are indiscriminately given as many times they are clearly in violation of the Goa government own TCP, Environmental laws, guidelines and policies. Adding to it, TCP seems to be in a hurry to bring in controversial acts like 17/2, 39A to destroy/convert even more of Goa’s land, hills, forests, eco sensitive zones, etc The only planning perhaps the TCP dept is doing is to get in “commissions and income”. For whom is another debate, if not for the local, national BJP politicians and BJP Party High command (outside Goa).
